Game Recap

The Mustangs entered this Region 4A South Quarterfinal game against Midlothian knowing that their season was on the line. Lose and they were done. Win and move one step closer to their goal of qualifying for the state playoffs.

With this sense of urgency in mind, the Mustangs came out fast, jumping to a quick 3-0 lead, on their way to a 12-7 halftime lead. With Midlothian also knowing that their season was on the line, the Trojans tried to play fast and up tempo in the second half to get back into the game, but the Mustang defense came up with big stops, and the attack controlled the ball and the tempo, leading to a 19-12 victory for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs were led in scoring by Josie Mallory with 6 goals, followed by Paige McGlothlin with 5 goals. Paige and Kendall Walin led the teams with 2 assists apiece. Goalie Carly Harris led the strong defensive effort with 10 saves.

The Mustangs move onto the Region 4A South Semifinals at Jefferson Forest, Tuesday night at 6:00. Take a road trip and cheer on the Mustangs.
