NOTE TO NEWCOMERS: Monticello High School Boys Soccer Training is rigorous, and off-season training (July-February) is designed to be cumulative. In other words, for players joining at any point in the off-season, please be aware that while off-season training is never ‘mandatory’, it will take some time to “come up to speed.”  Parents of PLAYERS NEW TO THE PROGRAM are strongly encouraged to contact Head Coach Stuart Pierson prior to dropping off a player for a first session! * All eligible Monticello High School students are welcome.

2017-’18 Training Dates, Times, Location

July – 4 DAYS PER WEEK, after 4th of July, mornings, subject to VHSL Rule Limits

August – PER VHSL RULES, NO Training first 2 weeks of August!  In 2017, training begins after school opens

September4 DAYS PER WEEK, after Labor Day, after school, subject to VHSL Rule Limits, as follows:

6 (Wednesday) – 4-6:30, behind school
8 (Friday) – 4-6:30, behind school
9 (Saturday) – 8-9:30 am, turf
11 (Monday) – 4-6:30, behind school
13 (Wednesday) – 4-6:30, behind school
15 (Friday) – 4-6:30, behind school
16 (Saturday) – 8-9:30 am, turf
18 (Monday) – 4-6:30, behind school
20 (Wednesday) – 4-6:30, behind school
22 (Friday) – 4-6:30, behind school
23 (Saturday) – 8-9:30 am, turf
25 (Monday) – 4-6:30, behind school
27 (Wednesday) – 4-6:30, behind school
29 (Friday) – 4-6:30, behind school
30 (Saturday) – 8-9:30 am, turf

October, November, December2 DAYS PER WEEK, after school & over breaks

January – 4 DAYS PER WEEK, subject to VHSL Rule Limits, after school

FebruaryTryouts, near the end of the month…

March-MayMatch play, 5 days per week MANDATORY, usually no weekends. Training continues for Varsity until Post-Season play ends!!!! (* last possible Match Date is State Championship, always in early June!)

June – NO TRAINING, once matchplay is finished. *

*****ATTENTION!  Off-season training is FREE, but ANY DONATION TO THE BOYS SOCCER PROGRAM (no matter how small), made via the Monticello HS Sports Booster Club, IS MUCH APPRECIATED! *******
