A message from Head Coach Doug Bloor…
As we enter the final week of conditioning, I wanted to make sure everyone is aware of our practice schedule for the first couple of weeks before school begins. Ahhh! School is about to begin! But that means cross country is beginning too and I think we are in for an exciting season.
We have conditioning this week as usual.
Beginning on Monday, July 31st we will have daily practice. here is the schedule for the next 3 weeks:
Monday, July 31 through Thursday, Aug 3, 7 to 9 AM: we meet in back of MHS
Friday, Aug. 4th: 7 to 9 AM at Monticello Trail (lower parking lot)
Monday Aug 7th to Wednesday Aug 9th: Camp at Graves Mtn Lodge (no practice at MHS)
Thursday, Aug 10th: 7 to 9 AM at MHS
Friday Aug 11th: 7 to 9 AM at Monticello Trail.
Monday Aug 14 to Thursday Aug 17: 4 to 6 PM at MHS (sorry but we have to go to afternoon because of my work schedule)
Friday Aug 18: 4 to 6 PM at Monticello Trail
Please note: beginning July 31st, practice is required. That means that if you have to miss practice, you must contact me. Plenty of you have already informed me that you are on vacation which is totally fine. But wanting to sleep in is not a valid reason for missing practice.
Also, a completed VHSL Physical form must be on file for you to attend. You can bring it with you if need be. But you will not be allowed to practice without the physical being completed. Parents also need to complete the online student-athlete registration under “Parent Info” on the athletics website.
Everyone is invited to attend camp (flier attached). It is a ton of fun: excellent camaraderie, good food, fine outdoor setting, AC in the cabins, etc. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding camp.
Lastly, we are in need of a female chaperone for camp. Unfortunately, Coach Lindsey will be unable to attend. Obviously, the camp fee would be covered (and the food is wonderful). Any moms interested, please contact me.
