Coed Varsity Golf · Mike Parsons is new Monticello Head Golf Coach

Mike Parsons has been tabbed to take the reigns of the Monticello High School golf program, following the retirement from coaching of longtime Mustangs Head Coach Pam Bradley.

Coach Bradley led the Mustangs golf program for the last 18 of Monticello’s 21-year existence, including a VHSL Group AA State Runner-Up finish in 2003.  Eight student-athletes under Bradley continued their golf careers at the collegiate level – five in Division 1 including prestigious schools such as Notre Dame, William & Mary, Wake Forest and Virginia.

Parsons has worked at Monticello since 2014 as a teacher and Assistant Athletic Administrator, after teaching, coaching and serving as Athletic Director for Louisa County High School.  Assisting Coach Parsons will be Dean Eliason and John Kinney, both currently teachers at Monticello.

Tryouts for this fall’s Golf season begin Thursday, August 1, from 11:00am-2:00pm at Glenmore Country Club.  Students must have a current VHSL Physical Form on file with the athletics office to participate in tryouts. Please CLICK HERE for Fall Sports Tryouts Information.

Golf team tryouts/practice will be from 11:00am-2:00pm at Glenmore C.C. on August 1 and August 2.  Practices will begin at 2:00pm during the week of August 5.  Practice schedules for the remainder of the season will be shared with team members.  Please CLICK HERE for the Monticello Golf match schedule for the upcoming season.
