Meet Recap

The girls’ cross country team finished fourth in the 3A Region C championship. They finished only 8 points behind Fluvanna. Though the team did not qualify for the state meet, three girls qualified individually. Caroline Wilson ran her best race of the year (so far) to finsih 7th in a personal record time of 20:13. Fellow 9th grader Samantha Lange finshed 14th with a personal best of 20:56. She was closely followed by Maria Vizcaino who finshed 15th with a time of 21:07. All three Mustangs were named to the all-region team.

Game Recap

Senior Kevin Jarrell rushed for 238 yards and five touchdowns, also passing for 147 yards to lead Monticello to a 42-21 Senior Night win over Orange.

Classmate Jerrick Ayers added 126 yards and a touchdown for the Mustangs, who racked up 550 yards of total offense on the night.

Monticello (8-1) travels to Charlottesville next Friday night, and will host Region 3C Quarterfinal game against an opponent to be determined on Friday, Nov. 10.

Meet Recap

The girls cross country team finished 4th in the very competitive Jefferson District championships (AHS is ranked second in 5A state, WAHS 2nd in 3A, FCHS, 4th in 3A, and MHS 5th in 3A). Caroline Wilson lead the Mustangs with 9th place. She was closely followed by Hannah Anderson who completed a strong finish to place 14th. Both girls were named All District. Finishing out the top 5 were Maria Vizcaino, Kelly Shuren, and Samantha Lange.

Meet Recap

The Boys cross country team competed in the Jefferson District championship on Wednesday. They finished a respectable 4th place, losing out to third by only 9 points. Leading the way was Jack Kircher who placed 10th. he was closely followed by Eli Keith in 13th. Both harriers were name All District. Also scoring for varsity were Will Krehmeyer, Taylor Pierson, and Zach Wojcik.
