Monticello Mustangs JV Baseball 2018 couldn’t keep up with Albemarle and fell 11-4 on Thursday.

Monticello Mustangs JV Baseball 2018 captured the lead in the first inning. Kenneth Dillard grounded out, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the second inning, Monticello Mustangs JV Baseball 2018 tied things up at three. Cameron Critzer’s sac fly scored one run for Monticello Mustangs JV Baseball 2018.

Albemarle took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Walther’s sac fly scored one run for Albemarle and Smith singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Albemarle scored four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Albemarle was led by Rabinowitz, Shifflett, and Smith, who all drove in runs.
Chapman was on the mound for Albemarle. He went three innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out one.

Critzer got the start for Monticello Mustangs JV Baseball 2018. He went three and a third innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out three. Brandon Goolsby and Dillard entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.

Curt Huffman, Kai Gaines, Dillard, Brandon Shaver, Critzer, Gabe Page, Jacob Morris, and Will Owens each managed one hit to lead Monticello Mustangs JV Baseball 2018.
Albemarle collected 12 hits on the day. Shifflett, Smith, and Hensley each racked up multiple hits for Albemarle. Shifflett went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Albemarle in hits.
